In Love Patchwork & Quilting Issue 10:
Welcome to summer!
First off – we’re delighted to share with you an exclusive FREE set of patterns by super-talented Jeni Baker – her booklet of Vintage Summer projects is a free gift, just for Love P&Q readers (you’re welcome!). On the cover of this month’s issue is Karen Lewis’s bright and breezy Hourglass Twist quilt (with a matching cushion too, of course) which is perfect for showcasing your favourite prints.
Then there’s Susan Standen’s picnic set, including cutlery wraps and food covers, so that you can add a little patchwork style to alfresco dining. We’ll also be bringing you a must-have by bag-making extraordinaire turned fabric designer Sara Lawson – this modern make is a great project for beginners. Want more? How about a spot of fussy cutting with Julianna Gasiorowska, who is hitting all the right notes with her Mix-tape Pillows. Or perhaps you’re looking for something for little ones? Well, Manda McGrory’s patchwork playmat and appliqué fabric book is so stylish that no new parent could refuse!
Lynne Goldsworthy brings us not one, but two quilts: her Tutti Frutti ensemble is bursting with juicy colours and the aptly named Pointy Quilt is an angular masterpiece in rich jewel tone cottons. Jo Avery’s got festival-style nailed down with pretty Dresden petals on her boho pouf pillows and Judith Dahmen works her magic with scraps to create a super-striking windmill block. The issue is neatly rounded off with another in our block of the month series (which is drawing to a close soon!) as Lynne Goldsworthy presents the oh-so-craftly Ric Rac block which will surely have you itching to get stitching!
So pop Love P&Q next to your sewing machine for top tips while you stitch, and keep us to hand for instant ideas. Whatever you're doing, we're always with you, sharing your passion for fabric and the wonderful world of modern quilting.
