The Freezing Rain Table Runner pattern is more than just a pattern, it's also a mini-class in foundation paper piecing (FPP), teaching you the fundamentals needed to approach any FPP project. Foundation paper piecing is a great way to get accurate results every time - especially when it comes to those pesky points! This pattern has detailed instructions and diagrams that will guide you through the steps of preparing your fabric and sewing it onto your foundation paper to create this modern take on the square-in-a-square look. After assembling the foundation blocks the pattern then walks you through cutting out your background fabric and piecing the top as shown. It's deceptively easy!

I love a good tool, and this pattern is no exception. I recommend using an Add-A-Quarter ruler, but also show you how to use a regular quilter's ruler, so there's no need to purchase the Add-A-Quarter if you would rather do without.
