Many of you have asked for wallet patterns, and I’m thrilled to introduce my first, Get Carded. There are a lot of features packed into this little card wallet! I think you will appreciate some of the design elements:
Zippered coin pocket and clear vinyl ID pocket on the outside.
5 nested card slots on the inside, with one deeper slot for folded notes or coupons.
The ruffle gives functional expandability to the zippered coin pocket.
Optional pleated and flat zippered pocket for a different look and a quicker project.
Optional fabric outside pocket for those of you don’t wish to flash your ID.
There is no hand sewing. Just wait until you see this trick!
The wrist strap is one continuous loop just like The Essential Wristlet – no raw edges to fray block and fewer layers to sew through.
I’ve eliminated all unnecessary bulk. It won’t feel like sewing through a textbook cover. :)
The inside and outside use just a fat quarter each! I can’t stop sewing these because I want one in every single fabric on my shelf!
Main fabric: Fat quarter or 1/2 yard (1/4 yard if you don’t want a strap)
Lining fabric: Fat quarter or 1/4 yard
Woven fusible interfacing: 1/4 yard (Recommended: Pellon SF-101)
Extra firm sew-in interfacing: 1/4 yard or 4” x 7” scrap (Recommended: Pellon 926)
8 gauge plastic vinyl: 1/8 yard or scrap larger than 5.25” x 3”
Hardware: 1 D-Ring & Lobster Clasp for wrist strap (My favorite sizes are 1/2” & 5/8”)
8” or longer nylon zipper
2” length of 3/4″ wide Velcro
4.5” wide x 3.5” tall with a wrist strap
