Blume combines the traditional quilting techniques of strip piecing and Dresden Plate construction to create a graphically striking modern quilt. The four large scale blocks in the pattern are made from two fabrics to create a striped design and the Dresden Plate is appliqued to the center as a focal point. Use a combination of solid colored cottons and a print, as I did, or create your own unique version. Blume is recommended for advanced quilters or confident beginners. The PDF pattern of Blume contains step-by-step instructions, loads of color diagrams, and full-scale templates.
My original Blume quilt was exhibited at the International Quilt Festival in Cincinnati in 2012.
