I just learned this technique myself, and was pretty amazed at how simple it was to sew the zipper so it is set below the top. It looks very smart and sophisticated, but is pretty easy to accomplish.
This fun sewing project is suitable for those with some prior sewing experience.

• Medium sized scraps for front center
• 1/4 yard lining fabric
• 1/4 yard fusible interfacing
• 1/4 yard fleece or cotton batting interlining
• Ruler
• Fabric marker or chalk
• All-purpose polyester zipper (no metal teeth zippers)
Clutch: 12" (30cm)
Pouch: 9" (23cm)
• 6" (15cm) piece of 1/8" -1/4" wide ribbon
