Bento Box by Tracey Brookshier is a sophisticated yet simple-to-make quilt. An excellent showcase for a collection of Asian or other theme fabrics. Easy enough for new quilters, it provides intermediate and advanced quilters infinite possibilities for color play. I made the 36" quilt as a baby gift using a collection of Pink and Orange fabrics. Tracey's cutting and piecing instructions are extremely clever making the project a delight to make from start to finish.
Choose fabrics in pairs with medium to high contrast between the pair.
36" Wall: 6-9 light fat quarters, 6-9 dark fat quarters for blocks. 2 yards for backing. 1/2 yard for binding.
64" Lap: 10-16 light fat quarters, 10-16 dark fat quarters for blocks. 4 yards for backing. 1 yard for binding.
168" Bed: 24 light fat quarters, 24 dark fat quarters for blocks. 7 1/2 yards for backing. 1 1/2 yards for binding.
