About the apron:
This is a vintage inspired half apron with a figure flattering A-line shape and pockets that sew into the paneled seams. It features waist ties that can either be tied in a back bow, a front knot, or a front bow. This apron is functional as well as cute. It has a rounded patch pocket (perfect for a recipe card, your MP3 player, or your cell phone).
This apron design was tested on a variety of shapes and sizes and would be categorized as a Small/Medium (approximate off the rack dress sizes 2 to 12). It was made to fit the following measurements:
Waist - Between 22" and 32" (56cm and 81cm)
Hips - Between 30" and 38" (76cm and 96cm)
For Apron without bottom ruffle
1 Yard [92 cm] Fabric (for skirt and pocket)
1⁄2 Yard [46 cm] Contrast Fabric (for waistband, waist ties and pocket band)
For Apron with bottom ruffle
3⁄4 Yard [69 cm] Fabric (for skirt and pocket)
3⁄4 Yard [69 cm] Contrast Fabric (for waistband, waist ties, pocket band, and bottom ruffle)
*NOTE: If desired fabric has a directional pattern (there’s a definite fabric top and bottom), you’ll need to add about 9 inches [23 cm] extra to your skirt fabric yardage because you’ll need to modify the fabric layout.
